Die mittlerweile 21. Summer School Renewable Energy findet in diesem Jahr vom 16. August bis 1. September auf dem Solar-Campus des Standorts Jülich der Fachhochschule (FH) Aachen statt. Der zweieinhalbwöchige Sommerkurs steht wieder ganz im Zeichen der "Regenerativen Energien" und bietet einen umfassenden Überblick über Potenziale und Nutzungsmöglichkeiten erneuerbarer Energiequellen, aber auch über rationelle Energieverwendung. Die Fachvorträge, Übungen, Exkursionen und Projektarbeiten richten sich an Studierende aller Fachrichtungen ab dem vierten Semester. Bis zum 28. Juli 2006 können sich rund 40 Sommerschüler und -schülerinnen aus der ganzen Welt für den prall gefüllten Terminplan anmelden. Vormittags stehen Fachvorträge aus Lehre, Forschung und Industrie auf dem Programm. In Praktika werden Solaranlagen simuliert. Exkursionen beispielsweise zur FORTBILDUNGsakademie Mont-Cenis in Herne, zum Wasserkraftwerk Heimbach oder zum Tagebau Hambach runden die Summer School ab. Auch der gesellige Teil kommt erfahrungsgemäß nicht zu kurz. "Grundlegender Gedanke des breit angelegten Seminars ist es, unterschiedliche Dis-ziplinen langfristig miteinander zu verknüpfen und die Studierenden zum vernetzten Denken und Handeln anzuregen", so Carola Schneiders. Themen wie Energiesparen, Nutzung der unerschöpflichen Energiequellen Wind, Wasser, Sonne oder Biomasse gewinnen in der Diskussion um eine umweltverträgliche Energiepolitik zunehmend an Bedeutung. Regenerativen Energien gehört die Zukunft - und an der FH Aachen wird an dieser Zukunft kräftig mitgearbeitet: Das Solar-Institut Jülich der FH Aachen fasst Lehre, Forschung und Entwicklung auf diesem Gebiet zusammen und gibt dieses Know-How in der nun schon traditionellen Summer School Renewable Energy an Studierende aller Fachrichtungen weiter.
